For more than 50 years, LDS CAPA has been a trusted resource and community for mental health professionals who are members of, or friendly to members of, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Founded by counselors who once felt isolated in their efforts to provide faith-based care, the organization has grown into a thriving network that connects, supports, and educates therapists around the world.

As the organization prepared to celebrate its 50th anniversary, its leadership recognized the need for a website that reflected both the professionalism and purpose of its mission. Their legacy was strong, but their digital home no longer matched the quality of the work they were doing or the community they had built. It was time to modernize their online presence in a way that honored their history while creating room for continued growth and innovation.

The Challenge

After years of steady growth, LDS CAPA’s website had become difficult to manage and increasingly out of step with the organization’s needs. Many of the tools and systems in place were nearing the end of their support lifecycles, and the site’s overall structure had grown complex over time. Important information was spread across too many pages, and visitors often struggled to find what they were looking for.

The Process

The project began with a complete rebuild from the ground up. Working closely with LDS CAPA’s administrative lead, we mapped out the organization’s content and user pathways to uncover what mattered most to members. Together, we identified opportunities to simplify the structure, reduce unnecessary pages, and make the most important information easier to find.

Throughout the process, collaboration and clarity guided every decision. Regular input from the organization’s president helped ensure the new site reflected LDS CAPA’s professional tone and the reverence of its mission, while also meeting the practical needs of a modern association.

Design-wise, the goal was to balance warmth and professionalism—something that felt approachable and aligned with their values, yet refined enough to match the credibility they’ve built over decades. We developed a cleaner layout, intuitive navigation, and structured content that highlighted key offerings like membership, events, and continuing education. To bring their story to life visually, we curated images that felt genuine and representative of their community, including photos taken by our team during the annual conference.

After launch, we provided hands-on training for the organization’s administrator, ensuring they felt comfortable managing updates, content, and member tools. Ongoing support continues to help maintain the site’s stability, giving LDS CAPA a platform that can adapt and grow alongside them.
